Why Does Context Really Matter? Understanding Companies’ Dialogue with Fringe Communities

Although scholars have studied stakeholder dialogue, we lack studies that understand the effect of context on structure and form dialogue. To address this gap, in research focus local rural communities can be classified as fringe stakeholders to develop a comprehensive model “fringe community dialogue”. As these neglected groups been marginalized from society face grave serious socio-environmental issues, argue characteristics will affect way dialogue occurs. Therefore, posit instances need tailored specific stakeholder. assess this, follow theory-building grounded theory approach, field extract information three different sites. Findings indicate that, because communities, dialogues must sequential dimensions, which are connected by two enabling mechanisms. We contribute evincing stakeholder’s characteristics, process has particular key variables, differing what past literature asserts.
